Stranger than fiction
Labels: autism, links, words

A well written article with many excellent points. I remember my SPED 410 instructor in college going on and on about labels and how bad they were. She then explained how certain unwanted labels were being replaced...with new labels. Labels are not the problem. Negative connotations attached to the labels are the problem. But, the writer is correct when she notes that the correct label will unlock the vault doors. The trick is to not allow yourself to be defined by any one label.
